Meet Marie Solimena | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marie Solimena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marie, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Do not get discouraged by a “No”. I’m an actress, in L.A., I probably get 10 “no” a day, but I’ve learnt not put myself down because of it, it’s normal. At first, I was doubting my acting skills and my talent, and I still do sometimes, but then I’ve learnt that there’s so many other factors that depend on you booking the role or not. Now, I see a rejection as a way to keep pushing forward and achieve my goal. I’m driven by my purpose and I know someday I’ll achieve what I want.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started acting when I was 9 years old, in a theatre school, in my hometown, Genova, Italy. I felt I love with acting, and theatre, the year before after watching The Wizard Of Oz, I was shocked by theHonestly, mainly the energy and comes with it. Sharing a small black and empty space (the stage) with 8 to 10 friends and make magic happen. Transporting the audience to a different world for a couple of hours just thanks to our imagination. I’ve always seen theatre as a big machine where if someone messes up and their colleagues aren’t ready to catch them everything can be destroyed. It takes a lot of trust and chemistry to put on a play – same thing for a movie. After graduating from high school, I decided to move to the us to pursue my dreams. I studied acting for film at the New York Film Academy and I graduated with honors in May. I’m now still in LA looking for my opportunity!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take her first to Santa Monica to watch the sunset and then go for drink at The Bungalow. Another day I would take her on a hike, may be by the Hollywood sign, and then for brunch in a healthy classic LA spot like the Urth Cafe or Backyard bowls.
during the week end I would take her dancing and to bars in WeHo, either Members or No Vacancy.
I would definitely also want to take her to th emotive desert or, if we have time to Joshua tree.
Lastly, I would take skydiving at Lake Elsinore.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
